Why do I see an X next to SimpleRisk Base URL does not match

SimpleRisk allows users to set the Base URL for the API, which is essential for transferring data to and from the MySQL database. If the URL you are using to connect to SimpleRisk does not match the stored value, you may encounter issues such as being unable to submit information or having many reports fail to function properly. If you continue to face difficulties after reviewing this FAQ, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@simplerisk.com.

How To Fix

To resolve this issue, you'll need to log in with an administrator account in SimpleRisk. This is essential because only users with administrative privileges can access the configuration settings required to make the necessary changes. Once you're successfully logged in, look for the “Configure” option located in the left-hand menu. This will take you to the configuration section where you can adjust various settings related to your SimpleRisk instance.

From the configuration menu, select “Settings.” In the settings window, you'll find several tabs at the top; navigate to the “General” tab, which is usually located near the bottom of the page. In this tab, look for the field labeled “SimpleRisk Base URL.” This field is crucial as it defines the base URL for your SimpleRisk installation and ensures that all links and resources are correctly referenced.

Take note of the URL currently displayed in your browser's address bar. It is important to capture this accurately because you will need to update the base URL to match your installation. However, be sure to exclude the “/admin/index.php” portion from the URL. For example, if your browser shows “https://demo.simplerisk.com/admin/index.php,” your updated base URL should simply be “https://demo.simplerisk.com.”

Once you have entered the correct base URL, don’t forget to click the “Update” button at the bottom of the page to save your adjustments. This final step is crucial, as it ensures that your changes take effect. After doing this, you should be all set! If you encounter any further issues or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance.
